NEW DELHI, AUGUST 8: Justice K.G. Balakrishanan and Justice B.K.Jain today heard the case of disproportionate assets of Rs. 4800 crore of former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal here at Supreme Court.
& nbsp; Mr. Badal tried to seek stay from the Punjab & Haryana High Court against the trial proceedings initiated against him at the special Court at Ropar. However, the court rejected Mr. Badals plea and he consequently filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the apex court.
The Supreme Court today finally initiated the process of the hearing of the case after a gap of almost two years despite Mr. Badals frantic and deliberate efforts to delay this case for the reasons best known to him. The hearing of the case would continue on day to day basis.
