Chandigarh Administration is contemplating to start AC buses in the areas facing parking problems

Chandigarh, August 7:- Chandigarh Administration is contemplating to start
AC buses in the areas facing parking problems. These buses will take the
citizens from parking sites to the commercial center, Sector 17. This
will help to solve the parking problem in the area. This was announced by
U.T. Home Secretary, Mr.Krishna Mohan, while making a presentation to the
Rotary Club Members at Sector 18 Rotary House here today.
Mr.Mohan elaborated the thrust areas of the Chandigarh Administration
and the development of city. Now, the city is bubbling with activity
and excellent infrastructure is being created. While giving due credit
to the citizens for their contribution in the development of the city,
Mr.Mohan said this development will not have been possible without the
people’s contribution.
The U.T. Home Secretary expressed happiness that Chandigarh is at the
top in terms of Human Development Index and quality of life. He also
explained various new projects coming up in the city like knowledge
city, theme park, film city etc. He also described various new proposals
of the Administration like non-AC taxi services, a new hospital for the
southern sector, three new artificial lakes, Museum of knowledge and
heritage status for the city beautiful.
Mr.Mohan complimented the Rotary Club and its members for their service
to the have not’s of the society and termed them as ‘great friend of
the Administration’ in the service of the needy.
Rotary Club Chandigarh President, Mr.Manmohan Singh Kohli, CII Chairman,
Chandigarh Region, Mr.Partap Aggarwal, Past R.I. President, Mr.Rajinder
K.Saboo also spoke on the occasion.
