Chandigarh July 28:- The Finance-cum-Panchayat and Rural Development Secretary, U.T., Chandigarh, Sh.S.K.Sandhu today disclosed that the students of 10+2 and above of the Village Daria would be imparted Chandigarh Training of Soft Skills(C-TOSS) Programme so that they could easily get job in Information Technology(IT) companies coming in the Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park. While interacting with the Sarpanches, Panches and villagers of the village here, on the occasion of a Free Health Check-up-cum-Awareness Camp, Sh.Sandhu further said that a Jan-Sampark Centre would also be opened in the village for the convenience of the villagers. Through the Centre, the villagers would be able to deposit their water and electricity bills, get bus passes, tenant verification forms, passport forms etc. For further improving the sanitation in and around the village and to do away with the menace of polythene, Sh.Sandhu asked the villagers to collect and sell the used polythene bags to the Engineering Department so that it could be used in making roads. While soliciting the cooperation of the villagers for the upkeep of their village, Sh.Sandhu asked them to send him their problems and demands through a representation. He also asked the Joint Director, Rural Development and Panchayat, U.T., Chandigarh, Sh.Ankur Garg to fix up a meeting with the villagers so that their problems and suggestions are taken care of. The Sarpanch of the village, Ms.Jasbir Kaur demanded that the Government High School be upgraded, a full fledged dispensary should be set up and necessary steps be taken to improve the sanitation. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, Sh.R.K.Rao and the Sub Divisional Magistrate(East)-cum-Secr etary, U.T. Red Cross Society, Ms.Swati Sharma were also present among others.
