Chandigarh, July 27:- The Collector Excise, U.T., Chandigarh has imposed a
penalty of Rs. 1 lakh on L-2 Licensee M/s Sai Finlease Pvt. Ltd., Sector
45/ Burail, Chandigarh under section 80 (2) of the Punjab Excise Act,
1914.
On an inspection conducted by the Excise Department, 238 bottles of
Kingfisher Strong Premium Beer were seized from licensed premises
without the legend “For sale in Chandigarh only”. The licensee also
failed to produce Sales Stock Register and Inspection Notebook at the
time of inspection.
The licensee was issued a Show Cause Notice for breach of terms and
conditions of his license and he admitted his fault of bringing beer
unauthorisedly.
